My love of the sea and water forms the basis of Immersion which explores what it means to be submersed in the water, to feel a deep connection and almost become part of it and absorb details that only emerge after lengthy engagement. I have become curious about the weird space just below the water where there are strange reflections of the sea bed and yourself. I have also been exploring what happens when you break down the movement of the water / waves and bubbles and the line traces they make and how patterns and textures and colours are revealed that normally go unnoticed. Other albums are made up from things that capture my imagination and curiosity.
“The waves broke and spread their waters swiftly over the shore. One after another they massed themselves and fell; the spray tossed itself back with the energy of their fall. The waves were steeped deep-blue save for a pattern of diamond-pointed light on their backs which rippled as the backs of great horses ripple with muscles as they move. The waves fell; withdrew and fell again, like the thud of a great beast stamping.” ― Virginia Woolf,
